![]() If you have OpenCore already on your main drive, you don't necessarily need to do this. Mount the USB's newly created EFI partition and copy your OpenCore configuration to it. Note that this creates an online DMG-based recovery image, so you need two things with your OpenCore configuration:Ī HFS+ driver ( VBoxHfs.efi or HFSPlus.efi)Ī Ethernet or wireless networking kext to download supporting install assets (e.g. app, or you can download it with a utility included with OpenCore at Utilities/macrecovery/macrecovery.py. This can be found within Contents/SharedSupport if you have an official Install macOS. ![]() It is easy if you have a BaseSystem.dmg lying around. ![]() Looking within OpenCore's Configuration document, there appears to be another alternative way to make a recovery USB. ![]() Another alternative is the createinstallmedia tool within the official Apple installer. So the general consensus of creating macOS install USB drives is to use gibMacOS, which is very good, and works really well.
